Dear International Students,
The first ISTEP-IS (English Proficiency Exam for Newly-registered International Students) of the SPRING semester will be held on Friday, February 06, 2026. The exam is going to take place at 10.30 in FL-LAB 20, FLED HALL building. Anyone who has not previously taken the exam is eligible to take it.
You should be in your classroom and ready to take the exams at least 30 minutes before the exam. Please bring exam materials such as a pencil, eraser, etc. You must also present an identity card (Student Card, National Identity Card, Passport, Driver's License, etc.) at the beginning of the exam.
On the exam date, you will take an online Cambridge Placement Test (CEPT Reading and Listening) first. Later, you will take a writing exam (just after the computer one) to prove your Academic Writing skills. In the Writing Exam, you will be asked to write an academic essay composed of at least four paragraphs, including an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Your essays will be graded based on content, organization, coherence, vocabulary range and accuracy, grammatical range and accuracy, and punctuation. Please make sure to take both exams (CEPT and Writing) on the exam day. If you do not take both exams, your score will be calculated as 0.
