Dear international students,
ISTEP for new-coming international students will be held on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at the Topkapi Campus. Students who have completed their registration but have not taken the ISTEP are eligible to take the exam. Please find the detailed classroom/time info in the document below.
If you think you are eligible but are not on the list, please send an email to foreignlanguages@istinye.edu.tr explaining your situation no later than February 2. Emails sent after this date will not be taken into consideration.
Students should be in their classrooms and ready to take the exams at least 10 minutes before the exam. Please do not forget to bring exam materials such as a pencil, eraser, etc. You must present an identity card (Student Card, National Identity Card, Passport, Driver's License, etc.) at the beginning of the exam.
On the exam date, you will first take an online Cambridge Placement Test (CEPT Reading and Listening) at school. Then, you will take a writing exam to prove your Academic Writing skills. In the Writing Exam, you will be asked to write an academic essay composed of at least four paragraphs including an introduction, two body paragraphs supporting your arguments with relevant details, and a conclusion. Your essays will be graded based on content, organization, coherence, vocabulary range and accuracy, grammatical range and accuracy, and punctuation. Please make sure to take both exams (CEPT and Writing) on the exam day. If you do not take the writing exam, your writing score will be calculated as 0.
The results will be announced on this website (https://yabancidiller.istinye.edu.tr/en/) by February 13.
