Dear New-Coming International Students,
If you have missed the ISTEP for new-coming international students held on February 8, you will be offered a make-up exam on March 14. Students who have completed their registration but have not taken the ISTEP are eligible to take the exam. Please note that this exam will be the last for students wishing to start their education in the Spring semester.
You cannot retake the exam if you have taken it before.
The make-up exam on March 14 will be held online. Students are required to use one laptop and one smartphone on the exam day. Detailed instructions about the exam process, class lists, etc. will be posted on this website a couple of days before the exam. Please check the announcements regularly.
On the exam date, you will first take an online Cambridge Placement Test (CEPT Reading and Listening). Then, you will take a writing exam to prove your Academic Writing skills. In the Writing Exam, you will be asked to write an academic essay composed of at least four paragraphs, including an introduction, two body paragraphs supporting your arguments with relevant details, and a conclusion. Your essays will be graded based on content, organization, coherence, vocabulary range and accuracy, grammatical range and accuracy, and punctuation.
