What is the Writing Center?
- The Writing Center, established by the School of Foreign Languages at Istinye University, provides students with feedback on their written compositions (essays).
- Appointments are available on weekdays between 10:00 and 16:00. Please note that appointments are not scheduled on national holidays, exam days, or weekends.
How does it work?
- During your appointment, you will meet with an assigned instructor to review and improve your essay.
- Each session lasts 30 minutes. If you arrive late, the duration of your delay will be deducted from your appointment time.
- Please note that the Writing Center is intended solely for receiving feedback, not for writing essays from the beginning. Therefore, you must prepare your essay in advance and submit it by e-mail to tanrisevenemine.writingcenter@gmail.com before your appointment.
- Students may schedule a maximum of two appointments per day, and requests to meet with a specific instructor cannot be accommodated.
How to schedule an appointment?
- To schedule an appointment, use the Writing Center Appointment link provided to you via Blackboard and select your preferred date and time.
- Once you receive a confirmation e-mail including the details of your appointment, your booking is complete. If you do not receive a confirmation e-mail, your appointment has not been scheduled.
- Appointments must be arranged at least one day in advance. If you are unable to attend, please cancel your appointment to allow other students the opportunity to book a session.
- If you miss two appointments (regardless of the reason), you will not be permitted to make further appointments for the remainder of the semester.
